Pitch For Music Video

Dragonfly pitch from Megan Hughes


We were videoed presenting this pitch to the class. Whilst the pitch was being presented each teacher and group had to fill out a feedback sheet. Discussion about the feedback that people had written took place after the presentation and it was revealed what we needed to work on and think about in order to achieve a good music video for our band and song choice. I will add the feedback sheets to my blogg once uploaded and also the video.

Audience Profile

This is our audience profile. It is ment to be visualy pleasing and communicate the type of audience who would like our band. The type of magazines they may read, the type of bands they most probably listen to aswell as us, what clothes they might wear, what hobbies and thing they like to do in there spare time and and shops they most probably buy their clothes from. Weve added lots of photos ans words to try and communaicate these factors aswell as words.

What have we done this week?

This week we have created our mood board for our band "Dragonfly"of which we had to include ideas about the band that we have been thinking of so far for example ideas about image ideas of location any intertextual references etc. 
We included all of this on our mood board even down to the finer details like colour of paper, writing and everything else.

We were also discussing ideas for our band Logo we want to create   a unique logo that represents our band and people recognise it for being our band.

These photos are all ideas of dragonflies we would like to include in our logo. We wanted to create the logo by spelling Dragonfly however with the F being an actual dragonfly. 

We tried putting these images in the word on photoshop but we decided we preferred the dragonfly to be the Y instead after feedback
                                    from others.




















In the end we came up with this design of which we really liked as a starting point we are going to ask for feedback from others and see what they make of it. but we are happy for this as a first attempt.

This voice clip is from my media teacher giving feedback on my Blogg, the improvements I could make what works and dose not work and also any positive things she thinks about it.

• I thought I did label my posts however I have now gone back and labeled them properly, it turns out you needed to add the gadget to your Blogg for it to show up.

The list of things I need to go back and correct.

• Post my audience profile.
• Anylise war paint video and a conclusion of genre.
• Apply the Keith Negus theory to our band.
• Add more analiysis to Gerri Haliiwel post and correct the grammer n pinctuation.
• Add more analysis to the coldplay post.
• On the lady Gaga post comment more on her image how its changed and how its created an artist image.

Ideas And Inspiration For Music Video

        
These pictures I have found of indie/soft rock type bands with girls in just to show different styles and prhaps inspire us when it comes to choosing our image.


Paramore

• This video is a great one to look at for inspiration as they play instruments as a band which is what we want to do in our ow music video, it fits into the category of soft/rock, although there are men in the band the singer is a woman and presents an image that we could get ideas from when creating our video she has a edgy look and isnt to dark rock. 

• The video is particularly inspiring, I like the use of split screen used within the video.
• I also like how it goes from preforming as a band in a room to cuts of them in there everyday lives as an insight into what there about and also to sell the band. Then back to them preforming again. This is something we have discussed whislt talking about our video.
• Tere is alot of variety in terms of shot types and its also nice how the cuts are in sync with the music and flow nicely.

                                         
 






 



















Warpaint 

• This video showed me alot about the band and there image throughout this videao although its not a music video showed there unique image and this is what we would like to achieve when making an image for our band in ou msic video.

• The use of instruments used by an ALL girl band is exeptionaly intresting as we would like our all girl band to have musical instruments and have the theme of preformance featured in the video.

• Ithink they are a really good band to look at as they are simliar to what we want to become as a 3 piece girl band and by looking at this band we could get plenty of inspriatuion.
